Although this blog was originally Jackson’s story, we realized there were so many stories to tell and this was the ideal place to tell them.
Our hope is that you will hear these stories and decide to share your home as a Foster to a deserving Bichon. It could be for a few days or a few weeks, and all that’s needed is your time, your love and socialization, a sack of kibble and a bowl of water.
Like all of Rescue, our stories are diverse and full of characters.

JACKSON’S STORY features:
Jackson — 11 weeks old in mid-April 2008, Jackson is a Bichon Frise puppy relinquished by his owners. They had purchased him at a pet store which is well known for selling Puppy Mill dogs and underage puppies. Fortunately, Jackson appears to be intelligent and healthy. And weird.
Brother and Sister — Six year old littermates of indeterminate heritage, who must cope with the new arrival and teach him the ways of the pack.
Tabitha – First-Time Foster. Fortunately her career as a New Media Consultant allows her to work from home and spend time cleaning up after Jackson.

The BRAT PACK’s STORY features:
BratPack Rescue in Florida is currently telling the story of four rescues from a Missouri puppy mill. Their story is told in the form of email messages back and forth between the Fosters.
Miss Darcy, originally Precious, is being fostered by Marilyn;
Charlie, originally Booger, is being fostered by Joan;
Einstein, originally Cotton, is being fostered by Kristin;
and Lester is being fostered by Kathy.
Halfway through the BratPack’s Story, more dogs came in (as often happens)…2 year old parents of 4 month old pups. Pebbles and BamBam are the parents, and the pups are Lady, Teddy and Alfred.

ANGEL’S STORY features:
Angel: Age 2-1/2, our first puppy mill cast-off and the subject of this blog.
Cognac: Age 7 or 8, our first foster dog, who has had some traumatic events in his life recently. Cognac has provided us with lots of challenges and could well have a blog in his own right, but we had no idea how much we could take for granted.
Paris: Nearly 4 years old, a timid diva that we raised from puppyhood. When Paris arrived at age 8 weeks she had a basic understanding of what it means to be a family pet, courtesy of her breeder. Angel arrived with no clue.
The Humans: Bitter Lily, a.k.a. The Mama, who is disabled; and husband Papa, a computer programmer. Both of us are very new to fostering.
